Academic Innovation

St. Peter Martyr School's academic programs meet the highest standards of 21st century education. Blended learning strategies incorporate state of the art software, which allows students to learn at their own pace and level. Utilizing small group instruction and individual practice, teachers are able to quickly measure learning performance and better focus their efforts for each child. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) courses are incorporated into St. Peter Martyr’s curriculum. The STEAM program has inspired a student Robotics Team, Computer Club and the continued development of our school garden.

St. Peter Martyr has implemented new curriculum that conforms to Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), which challenges and engages students to the highest level.

St. Peter Martyr prioritizes continuous improvement and professional development for our teachers and principals. Each teaching professional will have a personal plan to be executed on an annual basis. Improvements will come in the form of greater content knowledge, new teaching techniques, higher credentials, and broader expertise across disciplines and grade-level capabilities.

St. Peter Martyr, A Lumen Christi Academies

St. Peter Martyr prepares children to be God-centered, socially aware citizens, and lifelong learners who can effectively communicate. We are committed to their spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional, social, and cultural development. Students receive a well-developed and complete academic curriculum in the major cognitive areas. Students are given the opportunity for building student life and community by way of student council, publishing, athletics, liturgical celebrations, and mentorship opportunities with younger students. A Catholic Christian value system is incorporated at all levels and in all subject areas.

Catholic Identity

All LCA schools, some dating back to the 19th century, have long been offering a faith-based learning environment. Catholic faith principles like love, charity, and hope form the foundation for every LCA school.

Saint Peter Martyr School continues to meet the evolving needs in the community by providing quality education and sharing Christ’s Gospel. We strive to provide a safe, healthy, and caring environment; promote academic excellence; create a sense of wonder and understanding about God’s creation; invite parents to be actively involved in the development of their children’s education; and employ and retain staff who are personally committed to becoming exemplary role models for our students.
