Critics' Corner Clubs I & II are service organizations dedicated to the promotion of reading throughout the school. Critics' Corner II is open to 3rd and 4th graders who wish to aid teachers and younger students. Critics' Corner I is open to 5th through 8th grade students who give up one lunch period every two to three weeks to read to or with first graders in the computer lab. They then teach their readers how to take Accelerated Reader tests on the computers. Their goal is to help first graders become independent readers and test takers by the end of first grade.
Critics' Corner I also sponsors fundraisers in the form of raffles at Christmas and Easter and CandyGram sales for Valentine's Day. Funds raised may be used for reading software (Accelerated Reader) or given back to members in the form of scholarships.
